What Is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea is caused when an obstruction in the throat blocks the airway and temporarily stops breathing. People with this condition will wake up when a blockage occurs, even in the middle of the night. Being awoken allows you to start breathing again, but it also interrupts your sleep cycle and makes it difficult to wake up well-rested in the morning.
